Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the Maltese Islands located?

The Maltese islands lie strategically in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, 93km south of Sicily and 300km north of Libya. The archipelago is made up of the islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino, together with some tiny uninhabited islets.

What kind of weather conditions prevail on the Maltese Islands?

The Maltese climate is typically Mediterranean characterized by hot dry summers and mild wet winters. The average rainfall between October and March is 530mm. Winds are frequent and often strong coming mostly from the northwest (majjistral), northeast (grigal), and the hot humid southeast (xlokk). Relative humidity is generally higher than 60%.

Are there any specific seasons for the tours?

The Maltese Islands are blessed with lovely weather during most of the year. If one prefers to enjoy the lush green valleys and cool temperatures, then October to April are the best months to visit. On the other hand the summer months (May - September) are much warmer and are ideal for who wants to enjoy the beaches and the cloudless skies.

Since the temperature rises considerably during June, July and August, we only provide early morning half day tours (07.30hrs - 12.30hrs) and afternoon half day tours (16.00hrs - 20.00hrs) to avoid heat stress.

How much would it cost for a tour?

We usually quote prices per group rather than per person. We specialize in peronalised and intimate tours and there are various different rates; these start from around Eur160 per family (private tour). We quote transport costs as 'optional'. This is done because you may opt to hire a car or other transport yourself, and our expert guide would then join in.

What happens in case of adverse weather conditions?

Isolated torrential rains occuring during the months of September and October can cause some disturbances on local roads. Tours are cancelled only in case the Maltese Civil Protection issue a warning. Floods in certain low lying areas can make it very dangerous to travel by means of any vehicle.

Are all the tours child-friendly?

Most of the tours are child-friendly. It is always best to ask before booking a particular tour. As a general rule children under 5 can join our tours free of charge.

Do you cater for languages other than English?

We currently cater for the English, French, Italian and German languages but may also provide other languages upon request.
